Information on Programs Offered:"The objective of this program is to provide graduates with a solid foundation of administrative assisting basics and an understanding of general office processes and procedures. You will obtain a broad background in communications, computer skills, and interpersonal skills. Graduates will have the opportunity to become certified as a Microsoft Office Specialist in two of the four following disciplines: Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access Database. An IBMC certificate in Administrative Assisting, will qualify you for multiple entry-level positions in secretarial, receptionist, clerical, customer service/support and similar administrative positions. " The Role of Today's Office Professional Continues To Evolve - As technology continues to change the modern workplace, the role of today's office professional will continue to evolve. Office professionals need to excel in written and oral communication, interpersonal proficiency, organizational and management ability, accounting, computer, and general business knowledge. In our business program, you will obtain a solid foundation in the human and organizational aspects of management, a broad background in business administration, and a good understanding of accounting. You will be prepared to apply supervisory knowledge and skills in a variety of challenging situations in the business world. The accounting portion of the program is designed to permit dual entry-level employment options into either computer or accounting fields. The program provides a background in accounting concepts and general business procedures, with an emphasis on application software packages in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and financial software. An externship allows students to use hands-on skills learned in the classroom in the workplace. Medical Assistants Are Multi-Skilled Health Professionals - Medical Assistants are multi-skilled health professionals who assist physicians in performing a broad range of administrative and clinical duties. This field is suitable for people who want to acquire knowledge in the medical field, help others, and enjoy working with people. The many different roles in this profession assure a fast-moving and challenging career. The objective of this program is to provide graduates with the skills and knowledge that will enable them to qualify for entry-level positions as Medical Assistants. The emphasis on administrative and clinical skills includes instruction in medical terminology, medical insurance billing, medical office procedures, communication, word processing, accounting, and computer skills. The program includes an externship in a physician's office, clinic, or other healthcare facility. Diploma courses may be applied toward the Medical Assistant Degree program. The paralegal program at IBMC is designed to give you the knowledge and skills you need to work as a lawyer's assistant, legal administrative assistant or law office manager. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the legal assistant profession is expected to grow 33 percent by 2010. IBMC's paralegal course, which includes an externship with area professionals, prepares you for a prestigious and rewarding career in this growing industry. While earning your degree, you'll also learn how to use legal resources, prepare legal pleadings, memoranda and documents. You'll prove your experience in conducting client and witness interviews, analyzing legal information and working with legal professionals. The Paralegal Certificate Program is designed to prepare students with baccalaureate or associate college degrees to enter the legal profession upon completion of thirteen substantive law classes. Students will be prepared for entry level positions as a paralegal or legal assistant in the law office or other legal setting, and will be provided with the basic knowledge to perform the tasks required by attorneys and others that utilize paralegals in their businesses. A Pharmacy Technician often takes on a central role in the preparation and delivery of drug products and acts as a liaison between the doctor, the pharmacist and the patient. Pharmacy Technicians are invaluable support staff for licensed pharmacists. You will gain strong mathematical, organizational and technical skills needed to count and measure medication, manage inventories, and complete pharmaceutical dosage forms.The Field of Therapeutic Massage is Growing Every Year - The art and science of Therapeutic Massage is a branch of complimentary healthcare that works to improve a person's health and well-being through the hands-on manipulation of muscles and other soft tissues of the body. Massage Therapy is one of the fastest-growing professions in the healthcare industry. There is an ever-increasing acceptance of massage as a holistic approach to healthcare and health maintenance. As a result, opportunities for Massage Therapists are abundant. The Therapeutic Massage program is designed to prepare the student for employment as a Certified Massage Therapist (CMT) and/or to enter into private practice. Professional career training includes Swedish Massage, Neuro-Muscular techniques, Infant and Prenatal Massage, Sports Massage, Hydrotherapy, Asian, Reflexology, Chair Massage and site-specific treatment techniques.
