Information on Programs Offered:The Limited Scope X-ray Technician plays an important role as a member of the health care team in a physician's office or a clinic. Their primary responsibilities include the positioning of the chest, hand, wrist, forearm, elbow, knee, foot or ankle in preparation for x-ray. A Massage Therapist uses manual therapeutic techniques to massage soft tissues (such as muscle) that have been affected by stress, injury and illness. The primary goal of massage therapy is to loosen and relax muscles and their surrounding connective tissue coverings, and relieve the painful muscle tension that inevitably erodes your energy level. Medical Assistants perform routine administrative and clinical tasks in the offices and clinics of physicians, podiatrists, chiropractors and optometrists. In small practices, they are "generalists," who handle both administrative and clinical duties and report directly to an office manager, physician, or other health practitioner. Those in large practices tend to specialize in a particular area under the supervision of department administrators. Medical Billing and Coding Specialists are primarily responsible for submitting documentation of care they've provided to insurance companies. To do this, they handle day-to-day medical billing procedures, complete claim forms, schedule appointments, explain insurance benefits to patients and bill insurance companies, They also may be responsible for office bookkeeping and other administrative duties. Surgical Technologists, also called "Scrubs" and "Surgical or Operating Room Technicians," assist in surgical operations under the supervision of surgeons, registered nurses or other surgical personnel.
